No Tie Happy Hour Backstory

Founded in 2006 by Conor McCluskey and Darin Dawson, BombBomb helps bring the human element back into faceless, digital communication through simple video messages and tracking for smarter follow up. People in all 50 states and dozens of countries around the world use our service to communicate more clearly, connect more effectively, and generate more sales. Real estate and mortgage professionals represent the greatest share of our customer base, which includes professionals in all kinds of industries, including automotive, insurance, financial services, non profit, ministry, and more. To hear about it in customers’ own words, check out our 7 Stories series by clicking here.

In 2015, we outgrew our space in the heart of Old Colorado City and needed to find a new office space to call home. Committed to grow the company from Colorado Springs, McCluskey and Dawson decided to move the business into the 7th floor of the Wells Fargo Tower downtown on the northwest corner of Cascade Avenue and Colorado Avenue.

“We surveyed our team members about what we wanted and needed in a new workspace,” says CEO and co-founder Conor McCluskey. “The Wells Fargo Tower gives us natural light, great views, proximity to restaurants and parks, and more. Colorado Springs is our home and this office serves us well.”

A fast-growing company since our inception, we continue to pioneer with and for our customers the use of simple videos in the sales and communication processes to build trust and rapport more quickly and to save time by talking instead of typing. The way BombBomb’s subscription-based service simplifies this process across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices and the way tracking is seamlessly incorporated make it a timely and valuable solution for sales people who win through relationship and referral. In addition to many other recognition and awards along the way, we ranked #665 on the 2016 Inc 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

To support increases in revenue and customers, we’ve experienced nearly 70% growth in the total number of full-time employees already this year. As people continue to join the team, the 7th floor of the Wells Fargo Building started to get a bit tighter for the group, eventually resulting in the Product and Development teams moving into a portion of the 6th floor in February of this year.

McCluskey and Dawson have always tried to create a culture at BombBomb in which employees are excited to show up to work every day. To stay aligned with this vision, the survey results were analyzed and the BombBomb leadership team engaged architects and designers to help create a space the reflected the BombBomb culture and values – and make room for additional hires.

BombBomb began renovations in late July and completed the project in early September. The new space dampens sound and provides more collaborative work areas. Each employee was given a new desk setup that enables them to sit or stand throughout the day. The game room was kept in play with foosball and ping pong setups near the café. And the tap system was enhanced to make room for additional beverages including craft beer, ciders, and wine.
