Social Media and Content Marketing: Tom Ferry with Gary Vaynerchuk

March 11th, 2013

We recently visited Las Vegas to attend RE/MAX R4, an annual conference with thousands of brokers and agents from across the country and around the world. BombBomb set up a booth in the Marketplace to teach RE/MAX professionals about our video email marketing software.

A secondary benefit: Gary Vaynerchuk was booked to present a keynote session in the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Several of our team members have read his books, watched his videos, and share his insights and philosophies. I shot the session with two video cameras – a cover shot of the entire stage and an off-and-on close shot from the edge of the stage. A great piece of content, the video was viewed several hundred times during the three days it was available on YouTube.

Unfortunately, we received a request to remove the full 1 hour 10 minute video we posted to YouTube by the producers of the event, who retain the rights to all the event’s content and prefer not to have it shared openly. Fortunately, coach and author Tom Ferry recorded a 20 minute chat with Gary Vaynerchuk backstage before the presentation.

Though there’s obviously not as much detail in this 20 minute chat as in the full presentation, many of the key points are made in it. Biggest takeaways from the full session: real estate professionals must pay attention to culture shifts, are in the content marketing business, and should create content about their local communities (neighborhoods, schools, businesses, policies, events, etc).
