In 2016, Kris Lindahl Team with RE/MAX Results in Minnesota set a goal of 500 real estate transactions and closed 700, making them the #7 RE/MAX team in the nation.
For 2017, their goal is 1,000 transactions … with just 18 real estate agents. They were up 30% year to year in January, so they’re off and running.
How do they do it? That answer’s far bigger than this post. But Kris and his team use video and video email to leverage their time and build relationships.
When he visited BombBomb, Kris was kind enough to share video tips that you can put into play today.
Read time: 3 minutes
Video length: Two under 2 minutes, two under 1 minute
Takeaway: Video tips from a top real estate team
Referrals for a Real Estate Team or Agent
Video length: 1 minute, 58 seconds
A primary challenge: Staying consistent in using video. An agent might send 60 videos in a day, then none for 3 weeks.
The primary use: Reaching out to “A” and “B” clients to check in and see how it’s going.
The primary outcome: Referrals. “That’s where we see the most success – referrals.”
Tip to send more effective videos: Look at your client’s social media before sending. “Tune in to what’s going on in their life.” The info you get from social media gives you “that connector to have a conversation – that reason to reach out more than asking for business.”
Why you have to be real: “People can sense when you’re truly authentic.”
“Yes, at the end of the day you’re trying to grow your business, but you have to truly care about people and they have to sense that you care before they ever send you referrals … They have to like and trust you first.”
Two Video Tips for Someone Getting Started
Video length: 1 minute, 31 seconds
During our Q&A with Kris, Kristina asked for video tips for people just getting started with video.
“The most simple thing is to focus on the people you know and be real. Be yourself.”
There shouldn’t be a gap between who you are in video and who you are in person, so “get very comfortable being yourself.”
Don’t have a database? No problem. Start with the people you know.
“Who are the 10 closest friends you have. Let’s go there.”
Top Tip to Increase Video Views
Video length: 59 seconds
During our Q&A with Kris, Taylor asked for video tips to increase viewing.
Kris approaches BombBomb video email like Facebook Live video – people need a reason to tune in. “There has to be a teaser.”
“The ones that do the best are ‘I’m going to announce this’ or ‘I can’t believe this’ or ‘You can’t miss this.'”
Though your style may vary, Kris recommends blending in a little sales hype.
Staying in Touch before Video Email
Video length: 55 seconds
During our Q&A with Kris, Mariana asked how he was staying in touch with clients before BombBomb.
When he was a single agent, it was a fire drill every day. He had “no consistency.”
As the team got started, “we weren’t doing anything to stay in touch with our database.”
“Even though we didn’t do anything consistent with, like, a BombBomb, we used social to stay in touch.”
